“For God so loved [the people of Cyprus] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
The Republic of Cyprus is an island country in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. Turkey, Syria, Israel, and Greece are among its neighbors. Cyprus has a population of more than one million. Its capital is Nicosia. The official languages of Cyprus are Greek and Turkish. Most Greek Cypriots identify themselves as Greek Orthodox. Most Turkish Cypriots follow Sunni Islam. Today we pray that every Cypriot will receive the good news of Jesus Christ that Paul and Barnabas preached on Cyprus almost 2,000 years ago (Acts 13:4-12).
