Speaking the Truth in Love

Egypt

“For God so loved [the people of Egypt] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

The Arab Republic of Egypt is a transcontinental country located at the northeast corner of Africa and the southwest corner of Asia. The Sinai Peninsula is the land bridge connecting the two continents. Most of Egypt’s territory lies in the Nile Valley. Israel, Sudan, and Libya are neighboring countries. Egypt has a population of about 90 million. Its capital and largest city is Cairo.

Egypt’s official language is Arabic. Most citizens of this ancient country (90%) are Muslims. Today we pray that every Egyptian will experience the love of God that triumphs over force and all other things: “We are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 8:37-39).
