Speaking the Truth in Love

France

“For God so loved [the people of France] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

The French Republic consists of territory in Western Europe and several regions overseas. Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Monaco, Spain, Andorra, and the United Kingdom are neighboring countries. France has a population of 67 million. Its capital and largest city is Paris.

French is the country’s official language. The national motto is: “Liberty, equality, fraternity.” Roman Catholicism has been the predominant religion in France for many centuries, but only 5% of the French people attend church every week. Today we pray that every French citizen will see “the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ” (2 Cor. 4:6).
