16 There are six things that the LORD hates,
seven that are an abomination to him:
17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that make haste to run to evil,
19 a false witness who breathes out lies,
and one who sows discord among brothers
Prov. 6:16-19.
I cannot think of any organization that fits this divine description of wickedness better than the largest abortion provider in the country, Planned Parenthood. These “body parts of evil,” described in the text, have recently been exposed by the Center for Medical Progress for selling the organs and limbs of unborn innocents.
In 2013, one of the most powerful politicians in the country ended a speech addressed to Planned Parenthood with “God bless you!” That is not surprising to me. However, what is shocking is that the Planned Parenthood Clergy Advocacy Board, which includes “clergy” from the Episcopal, United Church of Christ and North American Baptists denominations, praised the murder machine for doing “God’s work.” And they have denounced the videos that have surfaced exposing Planned Parenthood for what it is.
When did the murder of unborn children ever become “God’s work?” These people truly fulfill what Isaiah wrote, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!” (Isa. 5:20). The world will always have things backwards, upside down and inside out because it is in the grip of the evil one, but when those who supposedly stand for what is right devise “wicked plans” in support of the slaughter of “Rachel’s children,“ then we can be assured that our country is on the fast track toward judgment. Michael Whitworth, a Gospel preacher in Bowie, Texas, expressed this quite powerfully: “As our elected officials vote to defund, I’m praying that God has sent the severed hand of an unborn child to write on the walls of Planned Parenthood: Mene Mene Tekel Parsin” (Dan. 5:25-27).
Through prayer and the exercise of our rights as American citizens (Acts 16:37, 22:25), let’s depose godless politicians and persuade those who share our values to defund Planned Parenthood.
