“For God so loved [the people of Brunei] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
Brunei Darussalam is a country on the north coast of Borneo, an island in Southeast Asia. Except for its South China Sea coastline, Brunei is completely surrounded by the Malaysian state of Sarawak. The Sarawak district of Limbang divides Brunei into two unconnected regions. Brunei has a population of some 416,000. About 97% of its people live in the western part of the country. Only about 10,000 people live in the mountainous eastern part. Brunei’s capital and largest city is Bandar Seri Begawan.
Brunei’s official language is Malay. Its religion is Sunni Islam. The national motto is: “Always in service
with God’s guidance.” Our prayer today is that the Bruneian people will “be servants of one another” through love of Christ (Gal. 5:13).
