“For God so loved [the people of the Comoros] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
The Union of the Comoros is an archipelago island country in the Indian Ocean off the east coast of Africa. Nearby countries include Mozambique, Madagascar, and Tanzania. The Comoros has a population of about 800,000. Its capital and largest city is Moroni. The three official languages in the Comoros are Comorian, Arabic, and French. The national motto is: “Unity—solidarity–development.” The nation’s religion is Sunni Islam.
Today we pray that every Comoran will unite with Jesus “in a death like his” and develop the character produced by his selfless love at the cross (Rom. 6:5).
