If you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the  dead, you will be saved. For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his lips  and so is saved. The scripture says, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.” For there is no  distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all and bestows his riches upon all who call  upon him. For, “Every one who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.” But how are men to call  upon him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never  heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher? And how can men preach unless they are sent? As it  is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach good news!” (Rom. 10:9-15). 

In hope [Abraham] believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations; as he had  been told, “So shall your descendants be.” He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body,  which was as good as dead because he was about a hundred years old, or when he considered the  barrenness of Sarah’s womb. No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew  strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had  promised. That is why his faith was “reckoned to him as righteousness.” But the words, “It was reckoned  to him,” were written not for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be reckoned to us who believe in him  that raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was put to death for our trespasses and raised for our  justification (Rom. 4:18-25). 

Hebrews 9:27-28 27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from law, although the law and the prophets  bear witness to it, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is  no distinction; since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, they are justified by his grace as a  gift, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as an expiation by his  blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he  had passed over former sins; it was to prove at the present time that he himself is righteous and that he  justifies him who has faith in Jesus (Rom. 3:21-26).
