The Lord’s Memorial Supper

Originally, our annual Memorial Day was a remembrance of the soldiers who died in the Civil War. After World War I the United States began to honor the dead who had fallen in any American conflict. But Christ’s church has a “memorial day” every Sunday. The Lord’s memorial supper is a sacred meal including cup…

Guyana

“For God so loved [the people of Guyana] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should  not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).    The Co-operative Republic of Guyana is situated on the northern mainland of South America. The  country is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, Brazil, Suriname, and Venezuela. Guyana has a small  population of only about 700,000. Its capital and largest city is Georgetown.    Guyana is the only South American nation where English is the official language. Its motto is “one  people, one nation, one destiny.” Today we pray that every Guyanese citizen will believe the teaching of  Jesus, who says that people must choose between two destinies: “Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is  wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is  narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few” (Matt. 7:13-14).    Note: Wikipedia is the primary source for the geographical information in this feature.

Mark 14:61-62

Mark 14:61-62 61 But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?” 62 “I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of…

God Gives the Growth

A farmer went into his field to sow. some of his seed fell on hard-packed soil and was devoured by birds. Some seed fell on rocky ground, rooted in the shallow soil, and withered in the hot sun. Some seed fell among thorns and therefore produced nothing. But “other seeds fell into good soil and…
