Guinea

“For God so loved [the people of Guinea] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should  not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).    The Republic of Guinea (formerly known as French Guinea) is a country in West Africa. The nation is  bordered by Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Senegal, and Sierra Leone. Guinea has a  population of about 11 million. Its capital and largest city is Conakry.    Guinea’s official language is French. The national motto is: “Work, justice, solidarity.” The predominant  religion is Islam. Today we pray that every Guinean will hear the Gospel of God’s grace and escape the  spiritual poverty depressing any people that rejects God’s glorious Son.    Note: Wikipedia is the primary source for the geographical information in this feature.

Hebrews 9:27-28

Hebrews 9:27-28 27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

Rom. 3:21-26

But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from law, although the law and the prophets  bear witness to it, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is  no distinction; since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, they are justified by his grace as a  gift, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as an expiation by his  blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he  had passed over former sins; it was to prove at the present time that he himself is righteous and that he  justifies him who has faith in Jesus (Rom. 3:21-26).

Take It Easy!

Americans are known around the world for their long work hours and high productivity. Because of the economic opportunities created by personal liberty, diligence is often repaid with generous financial rewards. Hard work is certainly commendable. The Bible says that “if any one will not work, let him not eat” (2 Thess. 3:10). But it’s…

“For God so loved [the people of Guatemala] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him  should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).    The Republic of Guatemala is located in Central America. The country is bordered by Mexico, Belize, the  Caribbean, Honduras, El Salvador, and the Pacific. With a population of almost 16 million, Guatemala is  the most populous nation in Central America. Its capital and largest city is Guatemala City.    Guatemala’s official language is Spanish. Catholicism is predominant, but Protestant churches are  growing rapidly. The national motto is: “Grow free and fertile.” Today we pray that every Guatemalan  will “lead a life worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing  in the knowledge of God” (Col. 1:10).    Note: Wikipedia is the primary source for the geographical information in this feature.
